Shakira Breaks Amazon Music Livestream Record With Madrid Concert

Colombian pop icon Shakira has added another achievement to her decades-long music career after her concert in Madrid emerged as Amazon Music’s most-watched female artist live concert. On October 3 2026 the concert was viewed by a global audience that also enjoyed a surprise appearance by British pop singer Dua Lipa. The record underscores the scope of live music streamed on the platform.

The concert was streamed through Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch as part of Amazon Music Presents Shakira Live from Madrid. This marked the first time Shakira’s full concert was livestreamed globally, allowing fans to watch the performance without purchasing a ticket or paying for a subscription. Amazon Music has not released exact viewer figures, so the achievement is currently defined by its record status rather than a publicly confirmed audience number.

One of the evening’s biggest highlights came when Dua Lipa joined Shakira on stage for an acoustic performance of “Antologa, ” a beloved song from Shakira’s early career. The collaboration created a memorable moment for fans, bringing together two major international artists from different generations of pop music.

“Antologa” was first released on Shakira’s 1995 album Pies Descalzos. The song’s, powerful, lyrics, and stripped-down instrumentation were a perfect match for a duet, providing a stark, more personal counterbalance to the epic production of the concert. The performance soon became a subject of social media buzz and entertainment outlets after the livestream.

The appearance highlighted the significance of surprise collaborations in contemporary concert culture. As performances now reach audiences well beyond the physical venue, a unexpected guest can create a notable online event, prompting discussion, sharing of clips, and renewed attention to an artist’s catalogue.

The concert was hosted as a segment of Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, and as part of her European Madrid residency. This residency was held at a dedicated venue, called Shakira Stadium, inside the Iberdrola Music site in Madrid. The venue’s capacity was indicative of the ongoing market for enormous live acts and the artist’s appeal far beyond Latin America.

The tour takes its name from her 2024 album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, a project tied to personal reinvention and resilience. Across more than three decades, Shakira has built an international audience through a combination of Latin pop rock dance music and multilingual songwriting. Her ability to move between Spanish-language hits and English-language releases has helped her maintain a distinctive position in the international music industry.

At Madrid, the Amazon Music event was also the centre piece for Amazon Music’s The Women Shaping Latin Music campaign. The campaign honours the women who have shaped Latin music, whilst shining a light on up-and-coming acts and opportunities for future generations.

The new Shakira concert is notable for Amazon Music as streaming companies are introducing exclusive concerts and partnership with artists to set their entertainment feeds apart.
